Captain: Brian Schott
Captain Brian has been living in or on the water, for most of his life. He grew up wakeboarding, waterskiing, snowboarding, and surfing in sunny California. Growing up in Carmel-by-the-Sea, he worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor.
Brian attended California State University at Chico where he studied Recreation Administration with an emphasis on hospitality and special events. After graduation, he moved to San Diego for work and to be closer to the ocean. After a few years in corporate America, Brian decided to trade in his suits and ties for swimsuits and sandals. He sold all of his possessions, moved abroad, and decided to turn his passion for sailing into a lifelong career.
Since then, Brian has chartered a variety of sailboats and large catamarans in Croatia, Greece, Sardinia, Portugal, the Bahamas, and his personal favorite, the Caribbean. He has spent the last three seasons in the US/British Virgin Islands, and cannot think of a more beautiful place to call home. When he’s not on charter, you can find him scuba diving, sailing, or fishing somewhere around the islands.
As your captain, Brian is devoted to making sure all his guests are safe and at ease throughout the entire voyage. Brian is a PADI Dive Master with current First Aid and CPR licenses to ensure the safety and well-being of all of his guests. His expertise in the area and the local community will ensure that your trip is one that you’ll never forget.
Furthermore, he will tailor your vacation with activities as well as desired destinations that make for a once in a lifetime experience. Consider the island hopping bucket list checked off if you decided to vacation with Captain Brian.
Jessa was born in Colorado and raised in Texas, and her love for the great outdoors began at a young age. Growing up, her family took vacations to the beach every year. It wasn’t until 2017 that she decided she wanted to live and work in the tropics full time. She quit her desk job and traded in the cubicle for the galley. Jessa began her career as a yacht chef in May 2017, and she loved the yachting lifestyle so much that she spent the next three seasons working on sailing yachts in Croatia. Since then, she has traveled to four different continents, including Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and explored many of the Caribbean islands.
The USVI and BVI quickly became one of her favorite places after sailing and working here at the end of 2018, and she knew instantly that she wanted to further her career here. In 2019 she began her life in the Caribbean and has been loving every day since. She enjoys sailing, hiking, snorkeling, scuba diving, and being able to spend every day on the water!
In addition to the adventurous lifestyle Jessa lives, she loves creating beautiful and delicious meals in the galley. She grew up helping her dad in the kitchen and on the grill, always working to perfect new tex mex meals and southern comfort foods. Her family was constantly making homestyle meals and this is when her passion for cooking began. She believes that cooking is all about sharing, and being able to share unique and tasty dishes with the guests is so important to her!
One of her favorite parts about traveling is being able to experience new cultures and cuisines, and incorporating these cuisines into her own menu. Seafood is a personal favorite of Jessa's, to cook and to eat! Jessa finds it very special to be able to use the local seafood for her dishes. Onboard Felix, Jessa will ensure that your vacation is filled with wholesome, fresh, and local meals. She has experience working with all dietary restrictions and food allergies and will work with you and your group to create the perfect menu for your week.
Brian and Jessa began working together a few years ago in the Mediterranean. They are close colleagues and have proven their strength as a team. They are both outgoing, charismatic, and eager to accommodate. With their experience and knowledge of the islands, they will be able to show you the most beautiful spots in the Virgin Islands. From the moment you step onboard Felix, you will feel the positive vibes and atmosphere of relaxation. They will ensure that everything is taken care of so you and your group can go into full vacation mode!

We came from Austin looking for a family Christmas vacation. Brian, Jessa, and Felix delivered a Christmas week experience we will never forget. Our kids will be talking about this being the best trip we have ever taken. Brian's knowledge of the area along with his connections delivered some unique dining experience. Jessa was a phenomenal chef and so attentive and fun. We can't wait to come back. - Darin and Kari

As always an amazing trip. The Felix offered more than we could ever need. Top-notch crew and the food was amazing. Trip of a lifetime! - Nicci
We really enjoyed the variety of activities available on the yacht. The Captain offered us a variety of activities each day. Scuba diving, snorkeling, tubing, fishing, sailing and a whole host of other options were presented and we felt that we could take advantage of whatever we wanted to do each day. I really enjoyed learning the skills required to sail a yacht of this size.
Each location that we visited on our voyage was beautiful. I felt fortunate that we seemed to avoid the more crowded ports in favor of the hidden gems. We were often the only people on the beach when we pulled in to set anchor.
I think we all came away with memories that will last a lifetime. I can't wait to go on my next charter on Felix!
